Android Gains (and Palm Loses) Market Share

Here’s the rundown: Google gained a huge 2.7 percent of the market, moving from 2.5 percent in September to 5.2 percent in December. Meanwhile, Palm fell massively from 8.3 percent to 6.1 percent over the period. Both RIM and Microsoft lost one percent of market share, with RIM dropping from 42.6 percent to 41.6 percent, [...]

Deuce McAllister doesn’t look *thrilled* to be there, but hopefully he had fun!
Deuce — the Saints all-time leader in rushing yards and touchdown — is heavily involved here in Jackson both as an investor and in charitable endeavors, and he’s the first player who really got me interested in the Saints. He’s [...]

Disabled Sense UI on my Hero

You can disable the Sense UI without uninstalling. Go to the “manage application” list of apps, open the TouchFlo, press “Clear defaults” and “Force stop”. Next time you press the home button a dialog will appear asking whtat to use as your desktop app – “TouchFlo” or “Home” (the classic android desktop).

Super Bowl 44 — Local Radio Play-by-Play Highlights

via youtube.com
Highlights from the Super Bowl as called by each team’s local broadcast; I’ve gotten a huge kick out of Jim Henderson doing play-by-play on Saints games — he adds plenty of emotion in this one when Shockey gets the touchdown and Porter makes his interception.

Tracy Porter Interception vs Colts HD (Superbowl)

via youtube.com
Wondering about the Super Bowl this year? The win came thanks to an offense that found its rhythm in the 2nd Quarter of the game, came back from a 10-0 deficit (tying the biggest comeback every) and decided to win the game.
But here’s the key play. The Saints win the Super [...]

Update: Living with My Hero

Time flies! I’ve had my Hero about two-and-a-half months, now, and, for the most part, I’m enjoying using it. I’ve found it’s a much better e-mail machine than my Blackberry Pearl was, and I enjoy the on-screen keyboard more than I did the two-letters-per-key approach of the Pearl. I enjoy the apps and find that [...]

HTC Hero Is Mine

A both unfortunate and fortuitous happenstance has caused me to upgrade to an HTC Hero a bit sooner than I’d thought — my Blackberry got washed with my jeans earlier in the week. After a few days of being cellphone-less, I finally got up to the CellularSouth “Discovery Center” in Ridgeland, Miss., and stepped in [...]

Excellent Idea: Priceline iPhone App

Here I am set on getting an Android phone and I see this. Very, very cool.
For YEARS I’ve been looking for the solution to being on the roadtrip and getting stuck with ridiculously high prices on Interstate motels.
Back in college I worked in motels in a time when the sophisticated traveler knew that [...]
